Growing your own vegetable or herb can reduce the amount of money spent on groceries, but it can depends on the expenses involved in growing the crops, kinds and amounts of vegetables or herb grown, yields that are derived from the garden, and also other factors. So, growing your own vegetable can save you money, if do wisely.
While saving money may be one of the biggest benefits to grow your own vegetable but there are others also. Gardens are a potential way to get safe food. You know where the food is coming from because it’s from your garden. You know what kind of chemicals you used, and also you essentially eliminated the whole chain of transportation to get the food on the table. In addition, gardening is fun and relaxing. It is physical exercise. You can eat fresh produce and at the same time you are moving your body.

Here is a picture of today’s harvest from my garden. It was enough for two and so delicious. I think I saved about at least $3 just for one meal! If this salad is served at a restaurant, it can be $12 for two.
